EXACTLY, what happens if my child takes a liking to homosexuality and me and my wife were only blessed and can only have 1 child? Now thats the end of my blood line.

So in other words your reasons are purely selfish and you don't care what your child might want? By your same logic I can say that you shouldn't let your child leave the house because he/she might get killed in an accident (gods forbid) and you'll be stuck with no grandchildren.

It's not about you though, is it.

That's exactly what I can't stand about religion. People think that if it's not written in their holy book then it's wrong. I'm pretty sure in the old testament it's a sin against God to wear a shirt made with more than one kind of fabric. Does that still apply today? Most certainly not. Why should the rest of it? (sorry if that sounds like an attack... it's not)

I'll go find that passage right now.

Edit:Found it.

Same thing happens if your child chooses to not have children. The important thing is, you need to respect other people's choices, whether you agree with them or not.

This is no more a good reason to ban homosexuality than it is to ban abstinance.

What if you have a daughter and she goes through the menopause at age 17?

Blaming people for being themselves is... well, there's no description of it really. But it's lame.

To the people that want to inflict thier closed minded view of "it's not right FOR ME, therefore YOU shouldn't do it", I hope someday the tables are turned for you. And you have just relinquished your right to question any policy or procedure that may hinder you in any way.
People that say "Oh, I have gay friends but I don't condone..." I'll ask you to do this; change the word GAY in all of this forum to BLACK or FEMALE. Now what? Opinions changed? Well, in the 20s Women faced rights issues, the 60s (and in some places IN THE UNITED STATES even today!) blacks do.
My sincere congratulations to the communities and leaders of Spain. Someday, I hope the good old USofA comes around (even a state at a time).
You see, I have gay friends. And I realize that thier ability to get married would do absolutely nothing to detract from MY marriage.

I have given myself permission to not believe in a "god" (not capitalized intentionally) and doing so has freed my mind to see what is right for society as a whole as opposed to "God says its not right". Perhaps that is why my view has changed from what it was (no gay marriage, because god says it's not right) to; hmm...how is this REALLY going to affect ME? Answer: It WON'T.

I saw a great character name in game the other day. It's funny because when you hear of extremists you NEVER hear them called "Atheist Extremists". And "Atheist Zealots" never kill a bunch of people. And this person's IGN was very close to one of those two. (Not mentioning it, because it wouldn't be fair to drag them in to this.)

Which is a great game seque to....anyone got a +30 Pommel of Fortitude they want to sell?!?

At some point, you need to accept the fact that you don't have the right to exercise that kind of control over other people's lives. Everything you've posted in this thread is diametrically opposed to the whole concept of Liberty. You are opposed to freedom, pure and simple. You're the kind of person Teddy Roosevelt would describe as "morally treasonous". You oppose the very ideals our country was founded upon.

It trust facts, and the facts say there's no definitive "cause" for homosexuality. It's any combinations of body chemistry, brain chemistry, raising, environment, everything.

Agreed! You have every right in the world to dislike 'em. You just have no right to prevent them from living the lives they choose.

I'm fine with people who oppose homosexuality. The problem comes when people like that try to abuse government to enforce their views on others, denying them their Liberty.

The only way to stop homosexuality for me that is, is to have a strict regime on gay issues in the house hold. Saying how much you hate gays and being anti gay is the only way i can really see stoping your child from being a homosexual if their is no genetic defect cause.

There are many people here who explain why they are against homosexuality, just most actually explain their viewpoint unlike you who just sits back and flames it and says it's bad/wrong/nasty and you hate anyone who does it without being brain damaged.

What makes it a DISease? a virus? Homosexuality might very well be genetic (we don't know for sure, yet), but I don't think homosexuals are at all hindered in any way or "malfunctioning" to the point where it would be classified a "disease".

My views on homosexuality are not just from religion. The bible guides but is not the word of god. I dont think it is something that should we seen as normal, to be frank i dont want a gay son. The thought of two men together repulses me. The human body was not made for that, it is not usual and should be tolerated but not seen as right. If people are gay they should keep it in private, public displays should be kept at a minumum. There is nothing worse than that, to be honest what makes me prejudice is the 'camp' people who make me want to beat them senseless. Crying and laughing and dancing around like little girls. They are men and should act like men, not just wimps.
.... Which leads to our children wondering if they should try it or not and giving them a more open mind towards stuff like this.
Just wanted to make sure you recognized that you see an open mind as a BAD thing. Case closed in my mind.

How about interracial marriages? Closet or open? Just wondering?

Let me ask you this, could you kiss me? Not a peck on the cheek, either, I mean a full-fledged French kiss?

If you couldn't, if the very idea of it disgusts you, how much choice do you really have about your sexual orientation?

You seem to think it'd be really easy to become a homosexual if you don't already have the proclivity. At one time a group of about a half dozen friends of mine were sitting around talking about it, and one pulled out two $50 bills and placed them on the table, saying they were for the two men in the room who could actually overcome their own inhibitions and kiss each other.

He got to keep his two $50. The only two people who would even attempt it couldn't do it in the end.

I don't believe anyone other than bi-sexuals really have a choice here. Everyone else is pretty much stuck with what they are.
